Monday Motivation: Dervoed Edition

“Liberty is the possibility of doubting, the possibility of making a mistake, the possibility of searching and experimenting, the possibility of saying No to any authority–literary, artistic, philosophic, religious, social and even political.”
-Ignazio Silone

Today we feature Artyom Dervoed performing Astor Piazzolla’s concerto for guitar and bandoneon. This Milonga movement is gorgeous. Dervoed also has a Naxos CD (MP3 format) full of Russian guitar music that’s really great.

This is very nice! This one would be a nice emotional one to dance Argentine Tango to. As a guitarist, I like the guitar mixed with it. What type of bandoneon is this? Most of the ones I’ve seen in Tango are smaller. This is not an accordion, I guess, because there aren’t the piano style keys. We’ve had live bandoneon at Milongas but they’re much smaller. Interesting stuff.

    Thanks!

    My Version:

“Liberty is the possibility of believing or doubting, the possibility of error free playing and making a mistake, the possibility of reveiwing and relying on what one has discovered and the possibility of searching and experimenting, the possibility of saying Yes or NO to any authority–literary, artistic, philosophic, religious, social and even political.”
