Monday Motivation: Interview Edition

“The object of my theories is to teach and persuade, since I establish nothing by authority.”
-Fernando Sor, trans. A. Merrick

Today we feature a short video interview with guitarist Stephen Aron. Mr. Aron will be giving a concert in my town in a few weeks, and I hope to do an interview with him at that time. Please leave any questions you have for him!

The end of the video has Mr. Aron performing Villa-lobos.

Ok, you kind of got in my bucket with this one. I am a quitter. I left music completely not long after getting my degree. But in the past couple of years I have experienced a bit of CG renewal.

But he sounds like a great motivator. A guy who can see the big picture and keeps going regardless of discouragement or hardship. Now that’s something to admire.

Thanks for posting this video. I saw Steve at a Masterclass about 9 years ago…. He is pretty intense… Doesn’t mess around.

I’d be really interested to see any tips he may have on choosing repertoire.. Also, what one should be during during a practice routine, how to go about learning pieces, etc.

Thanx for a great and inspiring video.

It’s true what Stephen is telling about quitting. It’s not an option. Guitar playing is a positive addiction.
I am not a classical guitar player, but my hands are aching when I hear and see him play.
