Acclaimed guitarist James Edwards and award-winning flutist Jacqueline Rosen will demonstrate their musical ingenuity in concert, at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, at the Rogue Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 87 Fourth St., Ashland.

The program will comprise a largely Brazilian repertoire, including pieces by famed Brazilian composers Heitor Villa-Lobos, Luiz Bonfá, Celso Machado and Baden Powell.

Brazilian music is marked by jazz harmonies, syncopated rhythms and evocative elements, says Edwards, director of guitar studies at Southern Oregon University.
