While Andres Segovia is easily the most influential and important guitarist of the 1st half of the 20th century; the latter half of the 20th century belongs to Bream.

Even today his achievements reign supreme. He was one of the first to seriously consider the Baroqueguitar and vihuela; beyond the shallow attempts of most guitarists (even today) wielding their Spanish modern instruments. He dabbled with the lute and its repertoire. He worked with Walton, Britten and other important 20th century composers. His masterclass videos one youtube show a charming Englishman, and solid musician.

Currently there’s no one to take his place; and even less that of Segovia.
2010 and beyond: Welcome to the world of superficial classical guitar.
